Lean And Sinewy


寧練筋長一寸,不練肉厚三分
Rather train to lengthen the fascias by one inch than to thicken the flesh by one third.

To link with 筋長一寸,壽延十年, extending the fascias by one inch prolongs life by ten years.

Training the flesh thickens.

Training the fascias lengthens.

The fascia lines must be as long as possible, hence the importance of stretching.

A good practice streamlines the muscles.

The longer the fascias are, the more freely the vapours circulate.

Thickening the flesh restricts the fascia, making the body less elastic, therefore less agile.
