行礼文靜如處女，開拳一動如脫兔
As gentle and quiet as a virgin when one salutes, like a fleeing hare when opening the fists* as soon as one moves.
One shall always attract sympathy outside fighting.
One shall also be unreadable outside fighting.
A quiet, nice and with expressionless face close to total dumbness was the sign of a high level in the arts.
Moves shall be sudden and brisk.
One shall be as untouchable as a eel, weapons cut.
Virgin is the organs, hare the body.
Gently and quiet is the body, fleeing the organs.
Comparing this proverb with the quote from the Lady of Yue “見之似好婦，奪之似懼虎”
*Traditionally Chinese used to salute each other hands together, one rolled into a fist and the other rolled around the fist. “Opening the fists” refers then to separating the hands after the salute.
