Opportune

一層功,一層理
A  level of skill, a level of theory.

Old Chinese practices are about chaos, not rule.

Theory is, hence, a question of opportunity.

Any principle is useless when someone’s body is not ready for it.

Principles to follow may change according to body transformations.

Timing, revealing principles only when the student is able to grasp them physically and mentally, used to be crucial.

Principles to follow may change according to the destination of the art*.

Training and fighting principles are often reversed. So do antidotes.

The voiding method knows a total inversion of the previously followed principles.

Method determines the theory, theory takes precedence over method is an oxymoron to be solved.

*Infantry archers and navy foot soldiers obviously have quite different training goals.
