Brainless

讀書要講,種地要耪,練拳要想
Studying needs explaining, tilling land weeding, training boxing pondering.

Ninety per cent training for ten per cent thinking when starting, the opposite when very advanced.

Doing an exercise because it is supposed to be good is brainless.

Understanding the strengths and, especially, the inherent weaknesses of any exercise is really pondering.

Thinking is about the why and the how.

Changes, one of the internal arts cornerstones, can only come through reflexion.

Learning the basics is exact repetition, refining them is transforming.

Doing the same exercise over and over leads to a blind alley.

Changing drastically one’s training from time to time opens new avenues.

Haughtiness invites disaster, humility reaps benefits*.
